Gary Hodges is the UK’s best selling and most collectable pencil artist. He absolutely adores elephants; to be around, to observe their family life, to hear their deep rumblings… and to draw.
He has been privileged to see many wild Asian elephants in both Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Recently, the kind owner of this original drawing donated it back to the artist to raise money for conservation, in memory of Graham Frazer. Seizing the opportunity, Gary decided to further raise funds by embellishing the drawing with many thousands of carefully placed pencil strokes, making it more dynamic with richer tones and even more detail.
The original drawing now lives permanently at the Nature in Art museum in Gloucestershire.
He has published the updated drawing as a low edition, large format print with all profits going to elephant conservation. The re-titled picture ‘Drawn To The Soul’ has already raised over £15,500 for elephant conservation.
