The artist, Jonathan Truss, wanted to create a painting that hopefully didn’t require explanation but that carried a strong, obvious and thought provoking narrative. Man’s destructive greed with no regard for the beauty and diversity of it all.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Jonathan Truss has been an artist for over 30 years with exhibitions in many countries across the globe. He has been a guest artist with P&O Cruises, has illustrated travel guides and was commissioned to write and illustrate ‘How to Draw & Paint Animals’. Jonathan is published by the UK’s largest gallery group and has led numerous worldwide art safaris. In 2019 he filmed ‘A Brush with Nature’ in Kenya, and in 2019 was an ambassador for ‘Artists for Conservation’ in China. He is twice winner of the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year ‘Frozen Planet’ category, an A&I magazine ‘Artist of the Year’ finalist as well as being a DSWF ‘Wildlife Artist of the Year’ finalist on a number of occasions.
