Julie Rhodes was born in Surrey in the late seventies. After studying for 4 years at The Surrey Institute of Art & Design, she has worked as a professional wildlife pencil artist for over 20 years. Based in North cornwall, Julie’s studio is close the beaches at Perranporth and Newquay. She draws predominantly wildlife but also pieces detailing the local harbour and beach life.
Julie works solely in pencil, creating highly detailed, black and white drawings and prints.
Julie has worked with many charities producing wildlife drawings and prints to raise funds and awareness. As a keen surfer, Julie produced the winning artwork for Surf Girl magazines’ competition with S.A.S “surfers against Sewage” to clean up our beaches and protect the UK’s coastal wildlife.
She has won many awards and was shortlisted for ‘David Shepherd’s Wildlife Artist Of The Year competition 2011’.
Julie is also a published children’s author and has worked in collaboration with renowned illustrator ‘Korky Paul’ on their book “The Very Noisy House”
