Wildlife Artist of the Year
David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) is home to the world-renowned Wildlife Artist of the Year competition and event, where artists from around the globe can express their deep connection to the natural world and put a spotlight on an urgent need for wildlife conservation.
Since its inception in 2008, Wildlife Artist of the Year has attracted thousands of artists, buyers, and visitors, raising more than £1.7 million for our conservation efforts across Africa and Asia.
Wildlife Artist of the Year is divided into three stages:
each year, thousands of entries are received from some of the most talented professional and amateur artists. The artwork submitted depicts various forms of wildlife, portraying a variety of techniques and mediums.
Competition entries for 2024 opened on Monday 8 January 2024.
The exhibition is held at Mall Galleries in London and is open to all members of the public. The artwork on display can be viewed and purchased, with 50% of the proceeds from all artwork sales going towards DSWF.
On the first evening of the exhibition, there is an exclusive invite-only award ceremony where attendees are invited to preview and purchase the stunning selection of artwork shortlisted in each category for Wildlife Artist of the Year. Our esteemed panel of judges individually commend each art piece and prizes are awarded to the winners.
