Working in some of the planet’s most extreme and dangerous environments, anti-poaching rangers do one of the toughest jobs in the world. They work tirelessly day and night, often hostile conditions to protect wildlife. They face grueling conditions due to extreme weather, long hours and heavily armed poachers. But without rangers there would be no hope for critically endangered species like elephants and rhinos in their natural habitats.
Wildlife Rangers walk thousands of kilometres each year. Often spending weeks in the field at a time in order to protect wildlife and ensure their safety from poachers, snares and other threats. By taking part in this Ultra Challenge you will be stepping into a rangers shoes. Walking up to 50 kilometres in one day getting a feel for what they go through every day but in a much safer environment. Your fundraising will go towards DSWF’s support of Rangers across Africa and Asia. Ensuring they are well trained, equipped and supported to stay safe in the field and protect endangered wildlife.
