Global Canvas 2021
Healing Nature – A Planet on the Edge
Our annual children’s art competition, Global Canvas, is now open for entries. The theme for the 2021 competition is ‘Healing Nature – a Planet on the Edge’.
We would love children to think about the positive impacts their actions can have in helping to heal our planet and to show this in a fantastic display of art.
The DSWF team would like to extend a massive thank you to Michael O’Mara Books for generously sponsoring Global Canvas again this year.
Who can enter Global Canvas 2021?
This competition is open to groups of children aged 16 and under. An entering group can be a group of friends, an art club, a class, a year group or an entire school.
Global Canvas is a worldwide competition with participating groups entering from Russia, Nigeria, China and beyond.
Update: Please note that for the Global Canvas 2021 competition, if you are unable to work as a group to create your display due to Covid 19 (e.g. due to isolation/ quarantine/ school closure), we will accept individual entries and marks will not be lost during the judging process for not entering as part of a group.
Group displays and artworks
The group will need to make a display based on the theme using any art techniques and mediums they like. The judges would love to see recycled materials being used to create displays.
We appreciate that with the current situation around Covid-19, being together in a group of children is not always possible. In light of this, we suggest each member of the group independently creates a section of the display. The complete display can then be assembled and put together at a later date. We look forward to seeing the innovative and creative ways groups overcome distance and isolation through art.
