For walls and wildlife

These fabulous surfboards have been painted up in an exciting collaboration between the artist granddaughter of David Shepherd, Emily Lamb and Beachbeat Surfboards, Cornwall, and are now for sale with 100% of the proceeds going to help protect endangered species through the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation.

The first surfboard that Emily painted was auctioned at the Foundation’s annual Wildlife Ball in London and now has pride of place in an ocean-side home on the Isle of Wight. These dynamic new creations will make a striking addition to any collection and a truly unique talking point. Strictly for walls and not waves, but definitely for wildlife.

Commenting on her work Emily said: “Having travelled extensively over the last decade, I’ve come to spend a few years quietly working away with a different mission by the sea, in Cornwall; a land of ancient energy and traditional outlooks, with cliff tops and ocean bays that inspire many folk from all walks of life.

“Painting on a surfboard makes total sense here. There is a strong surfing community and the overwhelming connection people have to the ocean and its power, is truly inspiring. I want to use boards because of what they represent to people and freedom.

“Many great experiences, dreams, hopes and fears are expelled or celebrated within the realm of surfing, and this is the simple reason for adding what I see as powerful in other parts of the world, onto and into the iconic symbol of our relationship with the ocean.”
