Abstract meets photorealism. The artist Tom Middleton wanted to create a piece that takes the viewer a moment to realise the situation, demanding more from the eye than first it meets. A fever of rays sweeping the seabed, clean untouched sand ahead representing sea life’s uncertain future, with chaos left behind.
