12th – 16th September 2023
Mall Galleries, London, SW1Y 5AS
Welcome to David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation’s Wildlife Artist of the Year 2023. Our internationally renowned wildlife art competition and exhibition attracts entries from the world’s most talented artists. Together, we celebrate the art of conservation, all in aid of some of the world’s most endangered species.
Each year, a stunning selection of shortlisted artworks make it into the spotlight of our Wildlife Artist of the Year exhibition. With each piece commended by our esteemed panel of judges, you can be assured of unparalleled quality, with a wide variety of techniques and styles to explore. From recycled plastic sculptures to intricate pencil drawings, vast oil paintings, and everything in between – you’ll find an unbridled passion for the world’s wildlife on display.
50% of the proceeds and all entry income directly supports the vital work of David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and our conservation partners. By harnessing the powerful and emotive voice of the creative arts, the competition and exhibition ignites the conversation about conservation.
After an absence of three years due to the pandemic, we are delighted to announce our much-loved DSWF Wildlife Artist of the Year exhibition will be returning to the iconic Mall Galleries of London. From the 12th-16th September 2023, you’ll be able to experience and purchase this year’s show-stopping entries in person. Don’t worry if you can’t make it though, as we’ll also be sharing every piece of artwork to view and buy online too.

Our 2022 exhibition included an impressive 185 artworks of varying mediums and expressions by an incredible 151 separate artists. Through the incredible generosity and support of our sponsors, the devotion of our participating artists, and our wonderful buyers and donors, we were able to raise a staggering £85,000 for our vital conservation work across Africa and Asia.
