The Bachelors

The Bachelors
Carroll Hutchings
About the piece:
To get inspiration Carroll unearthed old boxes of photographs she had taken whilst living in Africa. Whilst sifting through she realised many of the species she had taken photos of were now endangered, their numbers shrinking at an alarming rate. This led to her establishing ENDANGERED INKS as her way to help conservation. ‘The Bachelors’ captures three adolescent cheetahs getting ready to hunt, working together to increase their chances of success and acting as a defence against other predators. Cheetahs are Africa’s most endangered wild cat, therefore being an important subject for Carroll.
