About the piece:
Hansaja is passionate about painting wildlife, landscapes, and still life, wanting to create awareness about current issues facing wildlife. ‘Say No To Plastic’ aims to do this. The use of plastic and other non-biodegradable material over time has caused huge impact on the global environment. It has caused deaths of our precious animals, birds, and marine life due to the consumption of this waste. Hansaja’s watercolour painting shows how pathetic wildlife appear when they have to live on and consume garbage from dumps full of plastics and polyethylene, especially in landfills. The wild elephants that come to these places usually stay for long periods consuming a lot of waste, and therefore they are prone to death and others serious health conditions. Therefore “SAY NO TO PLASTIC”.

At least 50% of the proceeds from this sale will support the charitable work of David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) and our ground-based conservation partners across Africa and Asia.
