About the piece:
A combination of the artists fortunate surroundings along with her love for all animals and a passion for felt go together to create these unique ‘felt paintings’. Late last summer Maxine caught a chance sighting of a badger, in his natural habit which was the inspiration for ‘Old Grey’. Maxine combined two felting techniques, modern needle felting alongside the traditional wet felting. By doing this she is able to guide but not entirely control the image created, which she says adds to the magic and gives every animal its own unique character!
