ARTWORK DESCRIPTION:

Michelle believes an octopus is beautiful, intelligent and unfamiliar. As well as these qualities Michelle wanted to explore their texture and movement and to carefully capture this in bronze.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:

Growing up in Somerset with an artistic family background, Michelle soon developed her own artistic identity shaped by her love of animals and the countryside. Michelle’s work begins through a process of photography, drawing from life and making experimental moquettes. She constructs her original sculptures using traditional materials such as clay, wax and plaster and often incorporates found objects. A mould is made from her original and her finished pieces are made from ceramics, bronze and bronze resin.
