About the piece:
Szilvia resides in Hungary and has a strong passion for drawing, now wanting to become a tattoo artist. Her drawing skills came from her parents and her main influence is the Hungarian painter István Sándorfi, who impressed Szilvia with his photorealistic oil painting and then led her to focus on hyper realistic art. Great apes have been her favourite animals since she was a child, in particular the bonobos. This species is capable of showing a wide range of what were long held as human-specific feelings and emotions, such as sensitivity, patience, compassion, kindness, empathy and altruism. They have a reputation for being the peaceful, free-loving hippies of the wild world. There’s so much that bonobos can teach humans. Their free-loving, unselfish, caring behaviour, their powerful sisterhood is admirable. There’s never been a single observed violence or aggression among them. They will help strangers without being asked to get food even there is no immediate payback. They don’t wait to be asked for help, they just offer it. If we all were able to behave a little like them, our world would be different, and more bonobos would be on this earth.
