Locked On

Locked On
Aga Elliott
About the piece:
Aga Elliot is a self-taught artist who creates artwork around connections and bonds. Her pieces are always engrained with an emotive and emotional story, and this is demonstrated in ‘Locked On’. This artwork depicts the famous Yellowstone Wapiti pack tracking their prey. The wolf pack is being led by the alpha female as they walk single file through the deep to snow to save energy, representing how they use these adverse weather conditions to their advantage. Rather than depicting a power hierarchy, this piece conveys the wolf pack being family-oriented and cooperative, drawing back to the connections and bonds that Aga depicts in her work. This piece is also a clear representation of the meaningless slaughter of wolves in the United States and the artist’s desire to be a voice for the voiceless ones.
