ARTWORK DESCRIPTION:
Sara Menon’s watercolour shows a Marsican bear trying to climb the San Giovanni d’Antro staircase in the Natisone Valleys (a place located in Friuli Venezia Giulia on the border with Slovenia). The staircase leads to the bear cave of the same name, which can still be visited today. Legend has it that it was once the home of a bear and Sara likes to remember this place.
