ARTWORK DESCRIPTION:
During Florence’s last stay in East Africa, she was struck by the delicate balance between pastoralists and wildlife. Wild dogs are threatened by men even though they are an essential link in the ecosystem as they are the only predators of hyenas. Their social life is very complex and Florence wanted to capture a few privileged moments, deliberately depriving them of their context in order to better highlight them.
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:
Florence Cadene has been an acclaimed wildlife painter for over 20 years, with exhibitions worldwide (Europe, USA, Canada, Japan, China, Russia). Graduate of the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré (Paris) in 1989, her huge artwork is a compendium of emotion and light; an endless celebration of animal kingdoms and a constant call for their conservation. This is her 6th appearance as a DSWF Wildlife Artist of the Year finalist.
