About the piece:
Beth Windle is a natural history illustrator who specialises in Sumi-e ink, a Japanese pink based ink made especially for brush painting. By using elements of the land and with minimal brush strokes, she relies heavily on her intimate knowledge of the animal subject to capture their essence. This is represented in ‘Grooming Otter’, which shows an otter that has landed on the shore to groom its waterlogged fur, a fish within its powerful grip.
At least 50% of the proceeds from this sale will support the charitable work of David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) and our ground-based conservation partners across Africa and Asia.
