Endlessly, 2022
Rebecca Webb
ARTWORK DESCRIPTION:
Rebecca Webb’s artwork “Endlessly, 2022” explores the desire for connection through anthropomorphic representation that focuses on the tentacles of two jellyfish who appear to be ‘reaching out’ to each other, aiming to overcome the feeling of isolation and loneliness.
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:
Rebecca Webb is a Fine Art Graduate from Falmouth University. Her practice has addressed her feelings of personal and societal detachment from nature while living in modern day society through digitalised re-imaginings of natural forms. Her recent work has drawn deeper into exploring feelings of detachment and the tensions between this and the need for a sense of connection through anthropomorphised depictions of various marine-life. Her drawings are created using the pointillist technique which involves forming imagery through a mass collection of individual dots.
