Ji Qiu was born in China but now lives in Sydney, Australia. Ji began drawing as a child and, although he loves all wildlife, the birds and mammals of the rainforest and mountain areas are among his favourite subjects. The Eastern Bongo or Mountain Bongo is the largest of forest antelopes and can only be found in mountain areas in Kenya where, sadly, it has almost disappeared. It is one of the most threatened large animals in Africa.
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:
Ji Qiu was born in Beijing, China and is now based in Sydney, Australia. Ji Qiu began to draw wildlife when he was a child and is currently a signature member of Artists of Conservation. He loves all kinds of wildlife but the birds and mammals of the rainforest and mountain areas are among his favourite subjects. Qiu’s most used media are pencil, gouache, acrylic, watercolour and even digital media. He also participates in conservation activities.
