About the piece:
The image of the African elephant is universally popular, it adorns people’s walls worldwide, appears on the covers and fills the pages of books too numerous to count. Yet this animal is terribly vulnerable and is listed as endangered. This work is tied to the question of the future of these magnificent animalsand the need to confront the risk of losing them. This is in our hands and is our choice. In this artwork the animal fades, requiring an emotional response from the viewer.
