Octopi are highly intelligent creatures and have emerged primarily in response to predation and complex feeding contexts. The Cephalopod in this drawing demonstrates the extraordinary intelligence, emotion, and evolution behind the Cephalopoda class. James’s work focuses on conveying the beauty and elegance of these fascinating creatures.
James Rocke was born in England, raised in France, and has worked in several different countries such as Kenya, the Falkland Islands, Cyprus, Germany, Corsica, Belgium, and Sweden where he now resides with his wife. James’s work focuses on depicting the weird and wonderful creatures that share this beautiful planet with us. Being a self-taught artist, his style of drawing has emerged from countless hours spent hunched over the drawing board. He approaches drawing as you would a series of problems, with every minor detail being brought into consideration.
