Claire Hopkins’ pastel drawing of a Chinese Water Dragon poised on a rock in captivity was inspired by one of her regular visits to her local zoo on the Costa del Sol. Claire wanted to try drawing a different species of animal and gave herself a challenge of painting the scales. The colour and the form of the dragon inspired her to do this painting.
Claire Hopkins lives in Spain and specialises in Pet Portrait commissions and Animal Portraits. She has had a keen interest in drawing and painting from a very early age, but painting animals has always been her biggest passion.
