About the piece:
Emily is passionate about wildlife painting and when Chessington Zoo approached her to create and donate a painting of one their Southern White rhinos ‘Gyasi’ to create funds for conservation efforts, she realised she could help raise money for the subjects that she painted with her art. ‘Captivate’ shows an intimate and hyper-realistic acrylic painting of an Amur tiger. The title is a play on words, with the tiger being captivating to the audience, but also eluding to the fact that these stunning creatures may soon only be seen in captivity without ongoing conservation efforts. This piece is a tondo (round painting), giving it a more unique appearance and drawing your eye into the subject.
At least 50% of the proceeds from this sale will support the charitable work of David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) and our ground-based conservation partners across Africa and Asia.
