About The Piece
Jamie Cassaboon is a Hudson Valley-based artist working primarily in graphite and oils and produces a mix of wildlife, still life and landscapes. Jamie currently resides in Duchess County, NY, USA. Jamies says: “This is a portrait of a nesting pair of Burrowing Owls. These owls were observed multiple times over a few days in 2015 near Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA. Due to development and destruction of habitat, the state of Florida has now listed the Burrowing Owl as a threatened species.”
