About the piece:
Jinho Son visits the SSI Art & Design School in Seoul, South Korea. Their artwork was inspired by Salvador Dali’s ‘The Temptation of Saint Anthony’, drawing attention to the severe abuse and pain animals go through during circus training. Though their legs are weakened, the animals are depicted in a grandiose manner, like heroes of war, as they set fire to the circus and march confidently for their freedom. The jewels on the animals symbolize the materialistic greed of humans, and the ring of fire on the tiger’s body represents the trauma that will unfortunately scar the animal forever.
