A Young Hunter Perfecting His Craft
Polly Hosp
About the piece:
A Young Hunter Perfecting His Craft is the story of a young leopard growing up on the banks of the Luangwa River in Zambia; his playground – later hunting ground – overlaps with the kindergarten of the Yellow Billed Storks. As he learns to hunt, so they learn to fly. Each perfecting their own ability to thrive and survive. Polly is a printmaker inspired and influenced by both the Kent countryside, and more than a decade spent living in Africa. Her work explores the wonder of nature through birds, beasts and botanics. She works primarily in etching, collagraph and monoprint; all her artwork is hand-printed by her.
