About the piece:
Rachel is a watercolour artist based in Devon, England. She says: “I love painting and gain much inspiration from the landscapes, wildlife and coasts of Devon and Cornwall. Wildlife painting has become a major part of who I am. I strive to capture the essence of the subjects I like to play about with watercolour and create lost and found edges. I also like to be very precise in some parts and much looser in others leaving something to the viewer’s imagination. If people like what I have painted, then that makes me incredibly happy. ‘A Frothing Octopus, Curious, Exciting and Slightly Disturbing’ is a moving , living, intelligent creature, captured in my painting, imagined under the ocean, with vibrant colours and different textures.”
