A Beautiful Dilemma
About the piece:
Bill Prickett is best known for his sculptures of wildlife, most recently specialising in the contemporary medium of plywood. This piece was inspired by an encounter with a beautiful black variety of lionfish when free diving on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. Whilst witnessing this lionfish he observed the incredible complexities of its form and markings as well as the dangerous spiny appendages it possesses. The name ‘A Beautiful Dilemma’ also echoes the current issue in some parts of the world where the lionfish has become an invasive species.
At least 50% of the proceeds from this sale will support the charitable work of David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) and our ground-based conservation partners across Africa and Asia.
