Sarah Holmes – Becoming Unstuck

Drawing, Original | 42 × 60 cm | Framed

Out of stock

An octopus partially shown disappearing into the depths and the dark of the ocean. The oceans are under immense pressure from the impact of human actions. Can we make a difference and stop them disappearing altogether?

Charcoal on paper

Having returned to art in recent years, Sarah Holmes is a developing charcoal artist principally aiming to capture the nature of animals. With her artistic inspiration drawn from many, including Henry Moore’s sketches, she likes the depth and darkness achievable with charcoal, and she has drawn the subject both in the light, and more subtly in the shadows, with the feeling it could disappear from view at any moment.
