ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Born in Zimbabwe and raised in Zambia with the Victoria Falls and Zambezei River on his doorstep, as a wildlife and conservation enthusiast, James Hitchins was inspired by the quiet moments outdoors. Using graphite and white charcoal, James presents the observer with a subject in a black and white medium, bringing his pieces to unusual and unexpected life. His works are a delicate play and study of light, producing imagery that allows the mind to add it’s own further vibrance, whether it is in colour, light or movement, with an uncanny and surrealist outcome.
