Tim Hastilow – Spirit of ’77 (Part 2)

Drawing, Original | 43 × 54 cm | Framed

Out of stock

A majestic vulture and gate-keeper of the savannah, this drawing is following on from the narrative of the piece Tim Hastilow was a finalist with in Wildlife Artist of the Year 2023.

Ink on paper

Tim Hastilow studied art over 35 years ago, only returned to drawing 10 years ago after encouragement from his family. He has been selected as a DSWF Wildlife Artist of the Year finalist for nine years. Tim’s work is inspired by his passion for nature conservation and wildlife. His seemingly random scribbles build up a complex texture to give the desired effect and what appears abstract close up, is revealed in full when viewed as a whole. Tim experiments using different mediums from the traditional ink and pen, ink wash, to the more unusual of using coffee as a wash to create different tones and marks.
