The nuthatch is the only bird that can walk down as well as up a tree and the artist Andy Doyle wanted to capture this delightful behaviour and poise with some symmetry from the branch. Part of the artist’s process is being outdoors, researching the material, and he likes to show that amazing nature is often to be found just outside.
