ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Small Carter is a self-taught woodworking and mixed media artist specialising predominantly in sculptures made from oak, clay and other found materials. The natural world and its complex ecosystems has always been an inspiration for her. Small has worked with animals since childhood and, along with her sculpting, often finds her two passions interwoven and providing vital resources for the other. This is clearly reflected in the pieces she creates. The Oak and the Elephant, two of life’s iconic giants, is the first sculpture Small has cast into bronze and she is looking forward to making some more.
