Fish inhabit Andrew Tyzack’s dreams, and his memories of snorkeling through shoals of mackerel off Baggy Point, North Devon, follow him into the studio. Multitudinous mackerel populate his paintings, swimming through the picture plain at wondrous depths in his imagination.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Andrew Tyzack is a graduate of the Royal College of Art, published author, painter and printmaker. He lives with his wife and dog in Lincolnshire, UK. Andrew is known for depicting swarms and shoals in oil paints and printmaking. The mystery of what’s beneath the surface of water, or what’s inside a beehive, inhabits the pictorial space of his canvases. He regards the canvas as a deep place reserved for his dreams of beautiful creatures shoaling within the picture plane. Andrew enjoys swimming with fish and beekeeping.
