Two-thirds of the world’s albatross species are globally threatened because of human action, with up to 100,000 birds killed annually as bycatch. Andrew Stock travelled to Antarctica with the Royal Navy and his oil painting (painted this year) is a recollection of memories, photos and sketches.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Andrew Stock has been drawing and painting full time his entire life. His love of the natural world has been his guiding force and portraying wildlife, usually birds, within their environment has been his forte. The Scottish Highlands and Islands have always proved a tremendous inspiration for Andrew, but his travels as far as the Antarctic (with the Royal Navy) and the Himalayan foothills have also provided him with a wealth of inspiration. A member of the Society of Wildlife Artists since 1983, Andrew is also a past president. In addition, he is a printmaker, being a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE)
