The canvas is packed full of African painted dogs. The artist Sarah Rhiannon aimed to capture their nuanced expressions and varied poses, with some resting whilst others remain alert. Like the four standing guard of their pack, mankind must endeavour to protect this endangered species.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Sarah Rhiannon aims to capture the essence of her subjects in a loose impressionist style. As a Zoology graduate who has spent much of her life working in the safari industry, she is fascinated by the interactions between animals and their behaviour, often depicting multiple individuals in one painting. Whilst Sarah experiments with different art mediums, oil paint is her main choice and her painterly style is applied to a variety of subjects, from native local fauna to walrus and African painted dogs. First picking up a paintbrush in 2020, Sarah now paints full time from her studio in North Devon.
