The baby giraffe’s world is uncertain and falling apart, symbolised by the holes in his body, and the inner polished surface is the potential to which he hopes to aspire. Bog oak as a material is ancient oak that has been buried for centuries, it holds the stories of the past and of our culture and is used in this artwork.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
By discovering the beauty of animals at a glance, and revealing their tactile and visual simplicity, Ani Mollereau challenges the viewer to look more carefully at the world around them, to inspire their imagination, and to recognise their responsibility to our planet. Ani feels that through her sculpture she frees her spirit within to tell her story, but she also wants the viewer to see the animals story too, which is Ani’s motivation to create.
