ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The sun is no longer a circle in the sky, it has broken into shimmering, golden squares. As you look at the two cats, you see their fur starting to dissolve. Bright gold foil cuts across their bodies like falling blocks in a video game. They are half-animal and half-light, caught in a moment where the physical world is fading away.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sushma Yadav is a graduate from the National Institute of Design (NID) Ahmedabad, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design in 2017. This formal training serves as the foundation for her current practice, which merges the structural precision of textile design with mixed-media wildlife art. Her work is characterised by a tactile, layered approach, utilising acrylics, fabric fragments, and gold foil.
