Our sincere thanks to Ruth for contributing 100% donation to the Foundation.  As quoted by Ruth : ” I was inspired to paint these  elephants when taking a day safari to Shimba Hills Reserve near the coast south of Mombasa in Kenya.  We had taken a lunch break at Shimba Hills Lodge, which like Treetop is built up on stilts beside a man made waterhole. Noticing  a Fish Eagle, we waited and then it  swooped down taking some bread between its talons.  A little later, a small family of forest elephants came out of the trees heading towards the sugar cane sticks  which had been hung down from the viewing platform.  It was such a magical experience.  I created a monochrome background with the elephants and I used watercolours to highlight the Fish Eagle in the foreground.”
