About the piece:
Nathan created this piece using a pour-painting technique that balances loosely working towards an idea with what shapes and patterns can be picked out from the result. Depth and detail is added to transform the turmoil and capture the unique beauty of nature. The title derives from a quote – ‘Memory is more indelible than ink’ – that aptly describes the impermanence of wildlife and their vulnerability to the changes we are inflicting on this planet. With climate breakdown, overfishing and degradation of marine environments, for many species, if we do not act quickly, all that will be left of them is our memory.
At least 50% of the proceeds from this sale will support the charitable work of David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) and our ground-based conservation partners across Africa and Asia.
