About the piece:
Jean Pritchard is a full-time wildlife artist working from her home on the edge of the Lake District. She has exhibited at major exhibitions all over the country and her work is in collections both here and overseas. She has helped raise funds for animal charities and her painting ’The Connection’ will be auctioned by Melbourne Zoo in Australia next year to raise funds for Fighting Extinction. Her commission list is booked a year in advance and her passion is to depict the natural world the way that she sees it. This image is of the Siamang gibbon, native to Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Their population has fallen by 50% since the 1970’s due to the illegal pet trade and habitat loss.

At least 50% of the proceeds from this sale will support the charitable work of David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) and our ground-based conservation partners across Africa and Asia.
