Description

About the piece:
Beverley Drury incorporates the use of wire in her work to experiment with scale and movement. These four studies of the Central American coati were created by twisting iron and aluminium wire until delicate noses and paws emerged from their furry bulk. In turn, coatis themselves slip into poses that are reminiscent of Pilates exercises. Beverley has observed coatis foraging on the edge of Central American forests, drawing inspiration from this for the sculptures.
