Description

About the piece:
Alex Hickman is an entirely self-taught artist, always trying to find that perfect balance between abstract and contemporary without losing sight or touch of the real world and the details it gives. His art is inspired by every movement and reaction from the surrounding nature. He has combined his love of both wildlife and art through his pieces. Alex believes in the importance of capturing the true beauty of a subject, knowing that clay or pencil will add a contemporary feel to his artwork. His belief in being true to the subject is shown in ‘Instinct’, which depicts an African bull elephant beginning his journey and following his instinct to breed. The sculpture displays a realistic portrayal of this creature.

At least 50% of the proceeds from this sale will support the charitable work of David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) and our ground-based conservation partners across Africa and Asia.
