Star support raises almost US$30,000 for wild tigers

Press Release:

Star supporters of the TIGERTIME Campaign came together this autumn to help raise almost US$30,000 (£18,500) for tiger conservation in Assam.  As a partner of Animal Planet’s annual matched giving campaign ‘ROAR’ the charity urged supporters to donate during September to receive matched giving on their donations and, with bonus prizes for the most unique visitors to the site and the loudest ROAR generating $10,000 each it was an amazing international effort.

“Our social media and celebrity reach created a huge buzz for our tiger project in Assam driving traffic to the site and reaching out to almost 15 million people,” says TigerTime campaign manager, Vicky Flynn. “It’s great to see the power of social media transformed into real, conservation benefit for the tiger.”

With as few as 3,000 tigers left in the wild the TigerTime Campaign is working hard to fund conservation, education, anti-poaching, community outreach and undercover investigations in India, Thailand and Russia through a growing global social media supporter base.
