Raising funds for TigerTime
Phoebe Tankard, a year nine pupil at at Princethorpe College near Rugby, Warwickshire, recently chose to fundraise for TigerTime as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.
Volunteering three months of her time for a good cause, she chose to raise money and awareness for the plight of tigers. “I love tigers so I chose to do this for TigerTime,” explains Phoebe. “I spent twelve hours making cupcakes, gingerbread paws, pom-poms, information booklets, cards, poems, bags and purses to sell at my local village fete and my school fete.”
Phoebe also put out a donation bucket, ran a lucky dip, sold official TigerTime bracelets, and did face paint and paint tattoos. This also gave Phoebe the opportunity to tell other people about the issues surrounding wild tigers and the conservation projects that TigerTime supports in Russia, Thailand and India.
Raising a huge £156.09 to donate to TigerTime, Phoebe “hopes it makes a difference”. It certainly will, every penny counts. Thank you so much!
