Join the DSWF London Marathon 2021 team

Join the DSWF London Marathon 2021 team and help to support our mission to fight, protect, and engage on behalf of endangered wildlife around the world.

The Virgin Money London Marathon is the largest annual one-day fundraising event on the planet. Since the race first began in 1981, participants have raised more than £1 billion for good causes. This year’s London Marathon takes place on Sunday 3rd October and it’s set to be the biggest marathon ever staged. Around 100,000 runners are expected to take part with half on the traditional course and half virtually. Together, these participants will make history – how do you fancy being one of them?

By joining the DSWF London Marathon 2021 team you will be fundraising to support our conservation projects across Africa and Asia. Fighting wildlife crime, protecting endangered animals, and engaging with local communities, to turn the tide on extinction. You’ll be provided with fundraising support and advice through your marathon journey and together with the team, we will support you in reaching the finish line.

The Virtual Marathon this year is “Your Run, Your Way!” giving you the opportunity to take on the world’s greatest marathon on a course of your choice wherever you are on the planet! Here are our favourite ways you can personalise your virtual experience:

  • Being dropped 26.2 miles from home and running back to a hero’s welcome.
  • Complete each mile with a different animal theme or item of fancy dress.
  • Create a course that visits the homes of friends and family complete with outdoor drinks and snack stations.

Whether you compete in the physical event on the traditional course of Blackheath to The Mall or complete your own 26.2 miler virtually, you will receive the official London Marathon medal for your efforts!

David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation currently has limited spaces available on both the physical and virtual marathon so please do not hesitate to get in touch if you are interested in running with us on Sunday 3 October 2021.
