South Coast Challenge 2023

2-3 September 2023

About The South Coast Challenge

The South Coast Challenge is an Ultra Challenge! Whether you are a walker, jogger, or runner looking for a challenge, or want to test yourself or get in shape – whilst achieving something special then this is for you! Personalise your challenge with 25, 50 and 100km routes whilst immersing yourself in the South Downs and along one of Britains best coastlines.

The South Downs National Park is a superb backdrop for a brilliant Ultra Challenge and has been a popular choice in many trekkers calendars for a number of years. Why not join us as and other participants as we trek together across the beautiful south coast. The full route takes you up Beachy Head, over the magnificent Seven Sisters, and along the famous South Downs Way National Trail through Brighton and on to Arundel. Walk, jog, or run 100k, 50k or 25k this September.

Your entry includes a range of free food & drink at regular rest stops, and support from medics, marshals and massage teams. As you cross the finish line, you’ll get a glass of fizz, a t-shirt and a special medal to celebrate your achievement.

Why push yourself further for David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF)?

Working in some of the planet’s most extreme and dangerous environments, anti-poaching rangers do one of the toughest jobs in the world. They work tirelessly day and night in often hostile conditions to protect wildlife. They face gruelling conditions due to extreme weather, long hours and heavily armed poachers. But without rangers there would be no hope for critically endangered species like elephants and rhinos in their natural habitats.

Wildlife Rangers walk thousands of kilometres each year, often spending weeks in the field at a time in order to protect wildlife and ensure their safety from poachers, snares and other threats. By taking part in an Ultra Challenge you will be stepping into a rangers shoes walking up to 100 kilometres across two days getting a feel for what they go through every day but in a much safer environment.  Your fundraising will go towards DSWF’s support of Rangers across Africa and Asia, ensuring they are well trained, equipped and supported to stay safe in the field and protect endangered wildlife.
