Priya Shah

Born and brought up in Kenya, with stunning natural surroundings on her doorstep it was only natural that Priya has a soft spot for wildlife. After completing a degree in textiles at the University of Southampton she went back home and worked at a bronze foundry where she earned a great deal of experience working in 3D and her love for art and wildlife grew. Leaving the foundry with a wealth of experience she started painting on a full time basis, holding private exhibitions as well as commercial commissions.

Priya then moved to the UK where she carried on painting, constantly traveling back to Kenya for inspiration and was twice short listed for the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the year award, exhibiting at the Mall Galleries in London. It was after the success of these exhibitions that she ventured out to create a new platform for artists who share her passion and start a trend of ‘wearable art’ in the more literal sense. This was where Mia Kora was born, a scarf and shawl company based on Artists paintings, going back full circle and combining art with my love for textiles. As part of the company we have a collection produced annually solely for wildlife conservation.
