Honouring a Wildlife Art Heritage

Our Founder, David Shepherd was one of the world’s most talented and prolific artists who lived and breathed the ‘Art of Survival’. He travelled and painted widely, inspiring people through his unique artistic talent which captured some of the world’s most precious and endangered wildlife.

To honour David’s considerable art legacy, we are calling on all owners of David Shepherd original artworks to join the David Shepherd Originals Circle to share stories and anecdotes around their artworks with us. Our aim is to celebrate David’s work together and build an important catalogue of his work around the world – something that has never happened before.

Join the David Shepherd Originals Circle

Please take a few minutes to tell us about your David Shepherd original(s) through our online form.

If you are unsure whether your artwork is an original, then take a look at our guidance here: ‘How do I know if I have a David Shepherd original?’

Why join the David Shepherd Originals Circle?

“We would love to collect stories, anecdotes and tall tales about my father’s adventures, so that memories of his amazing life of art and wildlife can live on. We hope that people who treasure my father’s original artworks will come forward and join our new owners’ family circle, to share their stories and experiences with us. It would also be wonderful to build up a picture of where in the world his prized artworks have ended up.” Melanie Shepherd, Chair of DSWF’s Trustees and David’s daughter

By becoming part of the David Shepherd Originals Circle together we will be able to…

  • Share in some of the wonderful memories that David left us with
  • Build an important catalogue of David’s work, enabling us to celebrate his work together
  • Share interesting news and updates with you as we uncover David’s work around the world
  • Share exclusive news about sales of David Shepherd artworks through DSWF
  • Hopefully bring together some of David’s work for exclusive Circle events and exhibitions
